Adam Starr, Cinematographer Adam Starr

Emmy Award Winning Cinematographer Adam Starr's work has been showcased on major broadcast and cable networks (ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, Discovery Channel etc.) and also theatrically in both small underground cinema and major national and international theater chain venues (Loews, AMC). Even the high seas have been "graced" by Adam's creative vision - playing aboard Royal Caribbean Cruise Ships. His concentration is on strong original cinematic imagery. As such, much of his work is executed through the format of music videos; he has created music videos for Country, Hip-Hop, Gothic, and Pop artists including work for the group, Sister Sledge (We are Family). Adam also works heavily in visual effects, animation and 3D for web, TV and cinema alike.

In 2002, Adam won an Emmy award for a television campaign for the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston called, "The Look" - for which he worked to create the unique "look" of the lighting. He was also nominated for two other Emmy awards for commercials with FOX Sports. In 2007 his work was awarded "Best Documentary" in a 2007 HBO Film Competition for "Lest We Forget-The Black Holocaust" a film which he directed, photographed and edited. His film work has also been featured in numerous film festivals across the world.

Adam's personal film works are often characterized by their extreme post-modern slant (a characteristic that Adam likes to deny) and their fascination with the destructive vices of the film's characters.

Aside from motion picture arts, Adam enjoys participating in nearly every other visually-artistic field. He works as an illustrator and graphic designer of CD and DVD packaging, books, posters and magazines and has won several awards for his graphic arts. Adam also is involved in the artistic design, building, painting and lighting of haunted houses in the US.

During time spent away from the cameras, lights and computers, Adam labors for several environmental and social-welfare organizations. He also studies history, the sciences, permaculture and sustainable building techniques. He lives in Southern New Hampshire in a self-built "eco-house."
